Step two- No, sorry, this is actually step one, step one is- Recognize that there is a problem and that the problem is NOT you. Mentally distance yourself.
The Real Step two- RUN.
Step three- Establish roots in healthy people. There are people out there that you will genuinely love, and who will genuinely love you. Consider them real. Consider the people you’re supposed to love but who hurt you as not real. They are not real.
Step four- Maintain the mindset that you do not need the people who hurt you.
Step five- Pity them, for they need you. They need you so that they can project all of their misfortunes onto you. Pity is much worse than hate. Also, they say that hate is blind. Pity is relaxing. It’s less tiring.
Step six- Stay strong.
Step seven- Carry on. Don’t let this make you bitter. Learn from it and turn the page.
