In 2010 the United States killed between 600-1000 people in a series of 118 drone attacks.

If you look at the accounts of each attack, some say “militants” and some say “suspected militants” were killed. Some accounts say civilians. Some accounts say wives and children of militants were killed.

I want to talk for a split second about what it means to be a “suspected militant.”

What differentiates between “militant” and “suspected militant” and “civilian.”

There is no trial.

EVEN if we assume for the purposes of an arguments sake alone that our legal system functioned as it in theory should and was not in fact corrupted by money and high social standing——I digress-

We are literally just sending drones up into the sky, manning them from a television screen, and pulling the trigger sending missiles onto foreign ground with the intent to kill.

Maybe in 50 years people will think it’s okay to talk about this. Maybe in 100 years our grandchildren will be reading some skewed American version of what we’re doing right now in history.

But the American Government will not talk about it right now. News corporations won’t touch it.

But what happens when we really fuck up some day and Pakistan, Yemen, Afghanistan, and Somalia want to retaliate for the people that we’ve killed? Or what happens when Iran shoots down one of our drones that’s patrolling their skies and studies how to make one of their own and uses it to kill hundreds of United States citizens? OH WAIT THATS ALREADY HAPPENED. At least a third of that sentence has, anyway. Our drones are patrolling Iraq too, who’s to say Iraq couldn’t try and shoot one down, study it, make one, and use it against us.

We were aiming for al queda, but, woops, as collateral we shot a missile straight into Pandora’s mother fucking box.
